Thursday 26th November - bike **** - Two Rivers, Orwell to the Deben – mainly cloudy.

With my much-loved windsurfing foil broken I am pleased that the wind as disappeared, turned cold too so not missing the sailing at the moment. So, a cloudy, still day so after breakfast and exercises Mag makes a flask and we head out on the bikes which makes a nice change as the bike seem to spend a long time in the garage this time of year. Mag needed to be home by 2 so we were limited for time. We headed to Langer Park first and then down to Felixstowe dock view point but we definitely are not keen on biking on the road as there are loads of drivers wanting to do you harm:( With little wind, low water and an interesting sky it was great to be out on the bikes again, we were wrapped up so not cold at all. We made it to the jetty to enjoy our yummy homemade soup with a few boats and birds but no seals today. After a relaxing time at Landguard to headed back along the prom with Mag going up Bent Hill and home while I continued on to my favourite Felixstowe Ferry. We were on the edge of a weather front with cloud out to sea but inland blue sky with some interesting bands of cloud in between, just amazing:) There was some lovely reflections in the River Deben by Bawdsey Manor which got even better at the jetty. So, another walk around the boat yard with camera snapping, you can never have enough pics of this spot! Then out along the Deben path to Kings Fleet and back to Marsh Lane, skirting The Grove Park, through the town centre to see our famous Christmas tree. It made the Sun newspaper for being a poor example, sadly it was damaged on the delivery lorry:( I stopped at the old Santa in Russell Smith’s shop then home for a cuppa and cake before making a real fire:)
